Dancing Woman

Two nights of vaudeville were announced for the following Tuesday and Wednesday at the Elite Theater beside the feature picture, "The Girl from Montmartre." Alice Rector, the famous buck and wing dancer of B.F. Keith's circuit was one of the numbers. Miss Rector was summering near Sag Harbor; otherwise, it would have been impossible to engage her. She was to resume her work with the Greenwich Follies in September. The Annual Exhibition of the Lyme Art Association at Lyme, Connecticut was of special interest to Sag Harbor because of the prizes awarded by William S. Eaton of this village. For five years, Mr. Eaton awarded $500, but in 1926 his offerings totaled $1000. The principal Eaton prize was awarded to Ivan G. Olinsky for “Tosca in White,” a portrait of the latter’s younger daughter. John D. Liehr of Sag Harbor resigned as member of the Suffolk County Democratic committee from the second Southampton district. Mr. Liehr was a party leader and worker for 27 years and thought it was about time that someone else be given his "thankless" job.
