DETAILS FOR THE 2026 "725" GROUP ART EXHIBIT:

RULES

Any participating artist must be over the age of 18 and a resident (either full or part-time) of Sag Harbor. This includes Noyac, North Haven, Bay Point and the immediately adjacent areas of East Hampton Town along Route 114 to Swamp Road and Southampton Town along the Bridgehampton- Sag Harbor Turnpike to Clay Pit Road.

There is no specific theme or subject matter for this show. Sculpture and photography are included as well. Submitted hanging works may not measure more than 14"x18" and MUST ARRIVE READY TO HANG, including pricing. Works that are not properly framed and/or ready to hang will not be accepted. Only one item per artist is allowed.

Please have your selection ready as the museum will not choose which work to display. Once submitted, works may not be substituted. These guidelines will be strictly adhered to. Artworks will be displayed at the discretion of the museum.

All works must be original one-of-a-kind art. Pieces must be for sale and not previously exhibited at the Museum.

The Museum takes a 50% commission on any work sold.

DATES

DROP OFF:  Works may be dropped off at the Sag Harbor Whaling & Historical Museum at 200 Main Street on the following dates and times:  September 3rd 10-4pm, September 4th 10am – 4pm, during museum open hours.   A signed Artist Agreement must be completed at drop off.  If you cannot meet this deadline or need to submit your work ahead of schedule, do inform us so that proper arrangements can be made.

OPENING: The opening reception will be held on September 12h.  The Museum will send out several e-mail blasts to our list of contacts as well as place notices in arts calendars of local newspapers and media outlets. You may produce your own invitational card at your own expense. Feel free to submit a bio, artist statement and/or description of your work process.

EXHIBIT: The "725" Group Art Exhibit will end on October 25th. As the Museum is not in a position to store any     artwork, all works MUST be picked up between October 28 to 30.

FAQ:

WHO CAN ENTER EXHIBIT?

Any adult resident of Sag Harbor village and the immediate environs, i.e. Noyac to Northside Hills, North Haven, Redwood, Bay Point, on Route 114 to Swamp Road, on Bridgehampton Turnpike to Clay Pit Road, on Sagg Road to Mt. Misery Drive. (i.e. the old “725” telephone area)

WHAT ART IS ACCEPTABLE?

Paintings, Photographs, Sculptures – your choice of your own original, one-of-a-kind art. Only one piece of work per artist is allowed. Hanging works must be framed, wired, and ready to hang and be no more than 14” x 18.”

WILL THE ART BE FOR SALE?

Yes! All works will be offered for sale during the run of the exhibit.  As in the past, the artist and Museum will split the proceeds 50/50. Price point is up to the artist. The Museum will handle all delivery details with the purchaser, and cut a check for the artist after the show is completed.

WHEN TO DELIVER ART:

The exhibit will open on September 12th. Please bring your work to the Museum on Thursday, September 3rd or Friday, September 4th between 10am and 4pm. There will be a bit of paperwork, including proof of residence, to fill out upon delivery that should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

WILL THERE BE AN OPENING RECEPTION?

Absolutely! Saturday, September 12th, from 5pm-7pm. The exhibit will stay up until our closing for the season (October 25th).

AFTER THE EXHIBIT CLOSES:

Artists must pick up any unsold work from October 28th to 30th, from 10-4. Please let us know when to expect you. If you will have someone else taking your piece, let us know that too.
